Fig. 32: Back of postcard sent to Murree, India (now in Pakistan) Hill stations were preferred sites for European-only schools and orphanages in the latter half of the 19th century. St. Deny's School was started by the Anglican Mission in 1882 as a residential facility for girls. This postcard was sent as a birthday greeting probably to a student or teacher in 1912. Some of the school building burnt down as a result of arson in 2009. From the Priya Paul Collection.
