Rosie, what a wonderfully layered essay this is! I had been intrigued by some of these film stills in the PP archive and you have given me a layered entry into some of them. I wonder at how the film stills were shot. My research points to the fact that many of them were 're-created' in the studio and not in fact just 'documented' from the film set.
