I am extremely interested in this project and would love to submit my abstract on the EVOLUTION OF MASCULINITY IN HINDI CINEMA THROUGH MALE ICONS. I would want to choose around five to ten matinee idols from Hindi cinema and analyse through posters of films and still images, how the visual image of the screen hero has evolved from say, Ashok Kumar through Raj Kapoor to Rajesh Khanna, Amitabh Bachchan and the three Khans - Amir, Salman and Shahrukh each of who project completely different images and version of 'masculinity that echoes similar individualities reflected by Raj Kapoor, Dilip Kumar and Dev Anand. Can I participate as a film scholar specialising in Indian cinema mainly Hindi and its growth from Hindi cinema to Bollywood? This is indeed a fascinating project. Warmly, shoma a chatterji
